Doc. Sonja Zlatanov PhD

Sonja Zlatanov (maiden name Oklobdžija) was born on April 25, 1988, in Niš, where she completed her elementary and high school education. She graduated from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, majoring in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literatures in 2011. In the academic year 2012/2013, she enrolled in master's studies at Singidunum University in Belgrade, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, with a study program in English titled Business Systems in Tourism & Hospitality. She completed all obligations set by the study program with an average grade of 10.00, based on which she was awarded a diploma of higher education and the academic title of Master Economist.

She enrolled in doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Singidunum University in Belgrade, study program Tourism Management, in the academic year 2014/2015, and completed the exam obligations prescribed by the curriculum with an average grade of 10.00. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled "Digital Marketing Activities of Tourism Organizations in Serbia" on July 8, 2022, with a grade of 10 (ten), based on which she was awarded the scientific title of Doctor of Science - Management and Business.

From 2011 to 2015, she worked at several jobs, mainly as a teacher of Spanish and English. Since February 2015, she has been at the Higher School of Professional Business Studies in Blace (now Toplica Academy of Professional Studies, Department for Business Studies Blace), where she progressed from the initial position of teaching associate to the position of senior lecturer. During 2023, she was elected to the position of assistant professor.

Sonja is the author of numerous scientific papers on marketing in tourism and hospitality, with a special focus on digital marketing and artificial intelligence in tourism and hospitality. She is fluent in English and Spanish and also speaks Italian.
